Community Engagement

We are growing!  Thanks to staff focus and resources like HandsOnRVA we are increasing our engagement through private, community, and maintenance workdays.  We welcomed three private workdays this quarter, hosted a large community workday, and had 13 Wednesday maintenance sessions totaling over 186 hours of maintenance on the Low Line.

Special thanks to our private groups, Troutman Pepper, PlanRVA, and Urban Regional Planning Student Association (VCU).

You can sign up for weekly maintenance and community workdays HERE.  Contact Lisa Trapp, Program and Outreach Manager, to schedule a private workday.

Support our volunteer program

Plants continue to grow and thrive with proper care; our volunteer program is essential to that care.  We are excited about increased community engagement with the gardens.  Meaningful and safe workdays are possible because of teaching provided by our staff.  A gift of $100 can support the efforts to teach and supervise all levels of volunteers on a 2-hour community workday.  A recurring gift can support our teaching efforts on our weekly workdays.
