Celebrate Earth Week at Hotchkiss Field Community Center

Date: Sunday, April 27th, 2025

Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Location: Hotchkiss Field Community Center

Join Capital Trees for a free, family-friendly Earth Day Celebration on Sunday, April 27th, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Hotchkiss Field Community Center. This outdoor event will feature hands-on activities, insights into environmental sustainability, and a chance to connect with local organizations.

The event, hosted by Capital Trees, will feature a variety of interactive activities designed to educate and inspire attendees to make positive environmental changes in their homes, workplaces, and yards. Participants will also have the opportunity to tour Capital Trees’ newest project, Hotchkiss Green, and learn about the climate resilient practices and plantings of the project.

Learn from representatives of Shalom Farms, Richmond Office of Sustainability, Groundwork RVA, Lynnhaven School, The Community Climate Collaborative, Highland Park Garden Club, 3North, Republic Services, Art on Wheels, Richmond National Parks Service, and Parks, Recreation & Community Facilities, who will be offering informational activities. By completing an activity passport, you can receive free items such as Ruby Scoops ice cream, The Hot Dog Man RVA hot dogs, t-shirts, and bandanas.

We are still looking for community organizations and partners to join us at the event with a table about your organization and an interactive activity that promotes a community or earth day theme.  Please apply HERE by April 11.
