He’ll be focusing on improving soil health, supporting root development, and increasing tree resilience to drought, heat, pests, and disease. Attendees will gain a practical understanding of how soil amendments can make a meaningful difference in the longevity of our trees. We've entered our 2026-2027 fiscal year, and want We've entered our 2026-2027 fiscal year, and want to take an opportunity to introduce the co-chairs of our Board of Trustees. Ashley Wallace has been on the board since 2022, serving on both the Advancement and Projects Committees. As a member of Three Chopt Garden Club, she had a long history with our organization prior to serving on the board and she's now serving the second year of her term as co-chair. Beth Gullette is beginning the first year of her term as co-chair and has been on our board since 2024. As a board member, she served as the chair of our Governance Committee and sat on the Executive Committee. We're grateful for the 30+ years of leadership, human resources, and organizational development experience she brings to our board.

We’re excited to share that we’ve been awarded a G We’re excited to share that we’ve been awarded a Give Together Grant from Altria. Give Together is Altria’s annual employee-driven giving effort — employees have a hand in the selection process, allowing them to support nonprofits that matter to them in the communities where they live. We’re honored to have been chosen by Altria’s employees! We received $15,000 to support our Community Environmental Stewardship Program which engages our community in the stewardship of Richmond’s public greenspaces. Last fiscal year, we welcomed over 700 volunteers to help sustainably manage greenspaces and increase community connection with these shared spaces. Our community engagement grows year after year as more people learn about and become invested in our work, and this grant will help to support that growth.
