Capital Trees Day of Giving

Happy first day of spring! In the gardens, spring represents new beginnings and growth. At Capital Trees, we're growing too, with your help.

Join us today for our first, Capital Trees Day of Giving! We're excited to announce that our Board of Trustees and Advisory Council are providing a $1 for $1 match, starting TODAY, and running through April 19, matching the first $10,000 we raise. When you make a gift during that time, your impact will be DOUBLED! There's never been a better time to give.

The nature of our work.

Capital Trees is committed to building a greener, more livable Richmond by building transformational green space projects, sustainably managing completed projects, and advocating for increased green space access and environmentally sustainable management of public landscapes.

Our large-scale transformational projects include the Low Line, Low Line Green, Great Shiplock Park, and the stormwater management streetscape for 14th Street. These projects were completed with public and private partnerships and funding. Still today, the value of your gift is critical to our work. Your gift enables us to build and manage public landscapes, create a sense of place for communities, and educate on the benefits of sustainable practices, green space, and the power of nature for our wellbeing. Keep scrolling to learn about our newest project at Hotchkiss Field Community Center.

Our latest project. Hotchkiss Field Community Center.

Our project a the Hotchkiss Field Community Center in Richmond’s northside will transform just under 2 acres of turf at the center into an inviting urban landscape that includes walking trails, seating areas, lights, shade trees, pollinator gardens, and native shrubs and perennials. The green space will meet the needs of the humans who call the surrounding neighborhoods home, and the wildlife and pollinators who need an oasis in a largely urban area. The project at Hotchkiss Field Community Center will build a more inviting, sustainable resource for the community, in keeping with our core mission. Give today and double your impact for our work building public landscapes.
